LGH Welcomes Brad Purves, Our New Business Development Manager

We’re excited to welcome Brad Purves to the LGH Australia team as our new Business Development Manager. Brad will be supporting customers across Northern Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley region, bringing with him a strong commitment to service and a passion for helping customers find the right lifting solutions for their projects.

With more than 25 years in construction and a deep appreciation for the “art” of rigging, Brad is well-placed to build lasting relationships and uphold the high standard of support our customers expect from LGH.

We recently had the chance to sit down with Brad for a quick Q&A—here’s what he had to say:

_______________________________________________________________________

WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO JOIN LGH AND TAKE UP THE BDM ROLE?

I’ve spent many years on-site and have always admired the skill involved in rigging and lifting complex loads into place. During shutdowns and maintenance work, I loved seeing the specialised gear that makes each task possible. LGH’s impressive hire fleet and industry know-how were a natural draw for me, and I’m excited to combine that with my passion for delivering first-class service in an industry that never stands still.

WHAT INDUSTRIES HAVE YOU WORKED IN?

I started out in banking before moving into the construction sector, where I’ve spent many years working across a wide range of projects—from infrastructure and civil works to shutdowns and maintenance. That experience has given me a solid understanding of the equipment demands across various industries and how to tailor solutions that meet each customer’s specific needs.

WHAT EXPERIENCE ARE YOU BRINGING TO THE ROLE?

With more than 25 years in construction, I understand how critical it is to have the right equipment on-site, on time and in perfect working order. That insight will help me guide customers to the best solutions for their projects.

WHAT ARE YOUR CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR?

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work across a broad range of equipment categories—selling laser levels, machine control systems, construction survey equipment and 3D laser scanners, as well as supplying Dingo mini diggers. On the hire side, I’ve managed equipment for water management projects including large pumps, shoring and ground support systems, traffic management solutions and confined space gear. I take pride in matching the right equipment to the job and helping customers get the most out of their projects—whether that’s through increased safety, improved efficiency, or just getting the job done right the first time.

WHAT ARE YOUR SHORT-TERM PLANS IN YOUR NEW ROLE?

Having spent most of my career on the construction side of things, I’m really looking forward to seeing the other side—learning more about the specialised equipment that supports a wide range of projects. My goal is to get a strong understanding of LGH’s fleet and how it’s used in the field, so I can hit the ground running and start delivering real value to our customers.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST?

I’m excited to be part of a team that genuinely values great service and support—it’s something I’ve always believed in. Being able to work alongside like-minded people, while helping customers solve challenges and get the best out of their lifting equipment, is what drives me. I’m also looking forward to learning from the team and bringing my own experience into the mix to deliver the kind of service LGH is known for.

Keep an eye out for Brad as he hits the road—he’s ready to help you find the right lifting solution for your next project!
