LGH Welcomes Damien Bury, Our New Business Development Manager
We’re thrilled to have Damien Bury join the LGH Australia team as our Business Development Manager for Southern and Western Sydney.
Damien brings a unique blend of hands-on industry experience, practical thinking and a genuine drive to support customers with the right lifting solutions — even when the job is anything but straightforward. With more than 25 years’ experience across construction, infrastructure and heavy industry — including nearly two decades in Passive Fire Protection — his career has taken him from the snowfields of Colorado to some of Sydney’s most iconic projects. He’s now ready to hit the ground running and help build LGH’s presence from the ground up.
We recently had the chance to sit down with Damien for a quick Q&A—here’s what he had to say:

WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO JOIN LGH AND TAKE UP THE BDM ROLE?
The chance to be part of LGH’s expansion into the Australian market was a major drawcard — it’s not every day you get to help build something from the ground up. I was also drawn to LGH’s reputation for quality, service and safety, which really aligns with how I’ve always worked.
After spending years in construction and heavy industry, it felt like the right move to step back into a space I’m passionate about — and one where I can make a real impact. I’m looking forward to supporting customers with the best, safest lifting solutions available.
WHAT ARE YOUR CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR?
One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been mentoring and supporting colleagues — helping them grow into their roles and watching them succeed. I take real pride in fostering strong teams and contributing to a positive, results-driven culture.
I’ve also had the privilege of working on some of Sydney’s most iconic construction and refurbishment projects, often in high-pressure environments where precision and safety were critical. Being trusted to deliver on those types of jobs, and seeing the results come together, has been a real highlight.
WHAT INDUSTRIES HAVE YOU WORKED IN?
I’ve worked across a broad range of industries, with close to 18 years in Passive Fire Protection supporting construction, mining, defence, rail, road infrastructure and heavy industrial. Earlier in my career, I spent time abroad in Colorado’s snow industry, and later gained experience in FMCG and banking. Each role strengthened my ability to adapt, problem-solve and communicate effectively — no matter the environment.
WHAT EXPERIENCE ARE YOU BRINGING TO THE ROLE?
I bring more than 25 years of experience working in industries where safety, compliance and fast-thinking solutions are essential. Whether it’s a textbook scenario or something that needs a bit of creative thinking, I’m focused on delivering outcomes that are safe, compliant and right for the customer. Collaboration — both internally and externally — is a big part of how I work.
WHAT ARE YOUR SHORT-TERM PLANS IN YOUR NEW ROLE?
My goal is to establish a strong footprint for LGH in Southern and Western Sydney and showcase the value we bring through our product range, technical expertise and global reputation. I want LGH to become the first name people think of when they need reliable, high-quality lifting gear.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST?
Being part of a passionate and experienced team that’s building something new. There’s a great energy at LGH Australia — and I’m looking forward to playing a role in shaping our future and helping our customers achieve theirs.
Damien’s out and about across Southern and Western Sydney — ready to connect and help you lift smarter, safer and with confidence.
